On one occasion I had the adult best seller, the paperback best-seller in a different title, and a third book on the juvenile bestseller list. I’ve done six juveniles, all of those have nevertheless crossed over to the adult bestseller list. But in the UK I think every book- I think I’ve done twenty in the series- since the fourth book, every one has been one the top ten national bestsellers, either as hardcover or paperback, and quite often as both. I cannot speak for the US, where I merely sort of sell okay. I think you’d have to explain to me why you’ve asked that question. Pratchett: I had a decent lunch, and I’m feeling quite amiable. You’ve a gift for language, you’re a deft hand at plotting, and your books seem to have an enormous amount of attention to detail put into them. You start reading this book and when you finish it, you are exactly the same person. Like a text-book of what writers must not do, ThAt'S AlL I'm SaYiNG. Writing manner is so bad it deserves a praise. As if the author had to fulfill a contract and just made up a book without having any good stories to write about. The story isn't going anywhere, it just jumps from one small insignificant episode to another equally insignificant episode, without making any progress, without telling us anything. The main character has a terrible, fake personality. The story isn't going anyw This is just awful. 1 of 5 stars 2 of 5 stars 3 of 5 stars 4 of 5 stars 5 of 5 stars
